Power scenario across the country is going through a enarmous
change at a faster pace than it used to be. New trends and
concepts are paving way for newer technologies.
Our
state cannot afford to remain in isolation. we have to be
apace with current state of affairs and plan for excellence,
overcoming shortfalls. It needs endurance & relentless
concerted efforts, pursuance and vision.
Profit
is the pivot of business. Yester-years operative concept
is losing relevance in current perspective. A supplier has
to imbibe a new perception that market itself is a major
power consumer now. A supplier himself is an end user, be
it at manufacturing unit, workplace or even at home.
Buyer
& Supplier relations are interlinked. Integrated team
work is paramount need of the hour and we firmly believe
that our suppliers are our team mates in our every endeavour.
We have to work in harmony for the Nation so that it is
surplus with reliable and quality power.
As
per the 10th power survey conducted by the Ministry of Power
Govt. of india, peak power requirment (in MW) by the end
of 10th 5yr plan has been projected as 1923MW for the J&K
state whereas peak power demand is 2115MW. Kashmir region
accounts for 1154MW & Jammu region 961MW.
Infrastructure
development at 220KV & 132KV level has to be in line
with peak power demand. Accordingly it has been worked out
that transformation capacty of 1730MVA and 2076MVA at 220KV
level and 132KV level respectively is required for Kashmir
region and similarly 1442MVA at 220KV level and 1729MVA
at 132KV level is required for Jammu region by the end of
10th plan.
Availble transformation capacity at 220KV level in Kashmir
region is 750MVA and 1080MVA in Jammu region. So, 980MVA
and 362MVA are to be added by the end of 2007 at 220KV level
in Kashmir region and Jammu region respectively.
Hence
it is purposed to add 1200MVA at 220KV level by constructing
new grid stations and augumentation of existing grid stations.
So
for as transformation at 132KV level is concerned, existing
1416MVA in Kashmir region is purposed to touch (1636+640)MVA
by completing on going works and purposed new works. Similarly
transformation capacity at 132KV level from existing 1052MVA
is purposed to touch (1152+600)MVA by completing on going
works and proposed new works.
The
works related to the above purposals have been given in
detail in the project report bifurcated in two part viz.
Phase-I and Phase-II. Procurement of material only under
phase-I (Hon'ble PM's reconstruction plan) was entrusted
with Planning and Design wing. For phase-II the complete
job was undertaken on turn-key basis. Procurement action
has almost completed as most of the material stands procured.
